The recommended method to upgrade your WordPress website to PHP 7
As noted before, there are many things you need to check before upgrading your website to the latest PHP version. Upgrading your PHP version is a major upgrade. Therefore, you need to download the copy on the website before doing anything. Here, you follow the following checklist to move your WordPress website to PHP 7.
PHP 7 is best supported at Debian 8. As of February 16, 2016, we have started using Debian 8 on all new servers. If you have started the server before, then we recommend starting the new server and then copying your website to the new server.
After your website is copied on the new server, navigate to the Server Management tab
-> Package and choose PHP 7.
After your server is upgraded to PHP 7, check all the features, plugins, themes on the WordPress website for compatibility.
