The number of Bitcoin ATMs and cryptocurrencies exceeds 7,000 globally

An average of six crypto ATMs a day appear

The number of cryptocurrency ATMs has increased to more than 7,000 and is available in 75 countries.

At the time of writing, CoinATMRadar listed 7,014 crypto ATMs that exist. This number also includes ATMs of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin (BTC), such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Dash (DASH) and Litecoin (LTC).

Cryptocurrency ATMs have come a long way

The world's first ATM was installed in 2013, when a company called Robocoin put it in a cafe in Vancouver. Supporting Bitcoin transactions via cash and vice versa, this ATM recorded USD 10,000 BTC traded on launch day.

Currently, there are 42 operators operating 7,000 ATMs worldwide. There are only two Robocoin ATM locations, according to data from CoinATMRadar. Genesis Coin leads the way with ATMs in 2,348 locations.

ATM digital assets continue to blossom

There are currently 11.7 crypto ATMs installed in the world every day, according to CoinATMRadar data for the past seven days.

Last fall, Bitcoin Bitcoin Bitcoin company Bitstop partnered with US-based giant mall operator Simon Malls, to install five ATMs in five separate centers operated by Bitstop.

Florida's Miami International Airport also received a Bitcoin ATM from Bitstop in the second half of 2019.

Cryptocurrency ATMs have surpassed the 6,000 mark just recently in November 2019, which shows a growing demand for them in the availability of cryptocurrencies. This type of data shows how digital asset adoption and presence continues to progress, step by step.
